A fabulous textile, rare and beautiful! Ive just received my newest shipment from my last few shopping trips to France~! The indigo on this umbrella is STUNNING ~ This textile is a wonderful work of art, both time and use have made this even more beautiful ~*~ This wonderful umbrella is a French Shepherds umbrella dating from the late 1800s or early 1900s . This is an early umbrella ~ Every summer, the shepherd guides his flock into the mountain pastures and he was equipped with his dog and his umbrella. A FABULOUS decorative textile ~ Imagine this hanging from a ceiling!!! A conversation piece for sure.
Covered with cotton which is dyed using indigo , This umbrella uses metal spokes and the handle is made of wood.

MEASUREMENTS : This wonderful umbrella measures 58 inches wide and when opened out, measures approximately 41 inches long

CONDITION : This textile is for decorative purposes only as its an antique! ~This umbrella is unevenly faded with time. I work with many collectors that like me to keep the textiles in as found condition, so there is even the original storage dust! The mechanism that keeps the umbrella open needs repair as it was tricky to keep it open ~ One of the spokes has come undone, so the fabric must be stretched to get the spoke back in place ~ You can see there are some stains on this piece. This umbrella is not right for anyone looking for a perfect condition piece, but Ideal for anyone that appreciates the signs of time and use ~ inherent in these wonderful textiles!
