Salomon Abstract
The Salomon Abstract snowboard is an extension of the Salomon brands technological thinking and its prototype was the Salomon Villain, the board that brought Salomon Snowboards back into the game a few seasons ago. The Abstract is a unisex board and a freestyle showcase for the brand, an ideal model for those who log regular time at local snowparks or street spots. As a multiple, the Abstract is synonymous with a progressive freestyle board that you shouldnt pass up.
Riding style
Salomon Abstract is a park annihilator, a model you can blindly take to conquer the snowpark. A true twin tip that combines rocker, camber and flat to create the Rock Out Camber, a proprietary profile found on several Salomon Snowboards models.
This profile features a flat section between the bindings, camber in the foot area to improve stability and responsiveness, and rocker in the nose and tail. If youre looking for a model to take your freestyle riding to the next level, youve just found it.
The Abstract is perfectly symmetrical and the Quadratic waist allows you to ride fast on edge and provides better control on narrow sections.
Characteristics of the model
Abstract is a snowboard, which characteristic feature is a big pop, which is generated by the core profile - Popster Booster, which contains carbon inserts in its construction.
The Salomon Abstract is an easy to ride board that you will appreciate when you take it to its natural habitat of obstacles. The Abstract sticks to rails and boxes and its medium flex makes it a very predictable board to ride, while its wide length range makes it accessible to both men and women.
Salomon Abstract Flex
The Salomon Abstract is a medium flex board, making it stable, highly reactive so that even the slightest torsional momentum is transferred to the edge of the board for instant response, and it has atomic pop thanks to the carbon stripes on the nose and tail. The Abstract is easy to ride and precise, and will be appreciated by riders who are aiming for progression in the snowpark and rate their riding as at least intermediate. The manufacturer describes the stiffness of its product as 5.
Construction of the Salomon Abstract model
Snowboard Salomon Abstract is based on Aspen Select Core, which has a long FSC-certified wood selection, high quality and low weight, which results in a relatively lightweight board. The boards core is lined with medium-density BA MD glass fibre manufactured in Europe, which guarantees the durability and lightness of the product.
BioBased 30% resin, 30 of whose molecular structure is of plant origin, was used to manufacture the Abstract model. The Abstract model also features Ghost Carbon stripes on the nose and tail for even more pop and stability. Side walls of the board are equipped with Salomon Snowboards proprietary Royal Rubber Rails - a system responsible for the highest level of protection and shock absorption.
The edges of the Abstract snowboards have different angles - the nose and tail of the board have an edge angle reduced by 2 degrees in key areas of the taper, except between bindings, where the difference is 3 degrees. This ensures full edge hold but also plenty of freedom in the snowpark.
This model is completed with a sintered base finished with Medium Stone structure. The base of Salomon Abstract snowboards provides a balance between high speed thanks to hard surface and excellent lubrication.
Snowboard length Salomon Abstract
Remember: Choosing a snowboard length is very individual. In our experience we suggest to choose a model 20-25 cm shorter than your height - this applies to all-mountain, freestyle, park and jibb snowboards. An important issue when choosing a snowboard length is also the riders weight. Most manufacturers also provide a table with their goods, taking into account the purpose of the board and the weight and height dedicated to a particular length of snowboard.
